Setting Up Feed Mode in Apex Fusion
Introduction
Now that the WAV pumps are in an aquarium and connected to the Apex its time to configure and control them! The scope of this section of the WAV Get Started Guide will assist with configuring the WAV pumps and their operation.
Unlock your Unused Tile Bin
In the top right corner of the dashboard notice that the"unlock" button is "orange" indicating there are new tiles for the dashboard. Select the unlock button.
Place WAV Tiles on your Dashboard
There are five new tiles associated with the WAV Installation. Each of the WAV pumps will have a WAV Status and control tile. There will also one for the overall FLO Measurement of your WAV pumps.
Lock your Apex Fusion Dashboard
Relock the Apex Fusion dashboard by selecting the "lock icon."
Select a WAV Pump
Hover over the pump name and select it. Later in theWAV| Data, Alerts and FLO Guide the WAV Status tile will be examined more in depth.
WAV Fusion Wizard
The graph that is presented shows "Time" on the x-axis and "Intensity" on the y-axis.
Drag the points on the graph to determine on how the pump to operate in a 24 hour period. In terms of intensity:
| Intensity | Gallons Per Hour (GPH) |
|---|---|
| 0% | Off |
| 1% | 1800 |
| 100% | 4000 |
WAV Modes
The first WAV pump that is configured will be considered the "reference pump." There are 7 different modes it can operate in. For a description of these modes select the contextual help in the top right corner of your WAV Wizard.
Each point on the graph will represent a different WAV mode it could operate in. Some modes, like Pulse, will have further options to configure, like the frequency of the pulse
Fine Tune your WAV Graph
It is possible to add, remove or adjust points on the WAV graph. To do this select the gear, bottom left, and then the appropriate action.
Additional Options Available
Select the Configuration Gear in the top right corner.
Rename the Pump
In the "basic" configuration screen the pump can be renamed. (ie "WAV_1".)
The "Icon" is how the pump will be notated on the Apex Display Module.
"Fallback" is how the pump will operate should the 1LINK module be disconnected from the Apex System. The the options are OFF, ON, or a WAV profile.
WAV and Feed Cycles
The WAV pump can turn off by utilizing different Feed modes. Click on 'Advanced' to add programming that will augment your graph configuration. To do this select the advanced tab.
Example: To turn off the pump with Feed Mode A(5 Min.) you would add:
If FeedA 000 Then Off
and select "OK"
Please see theApex Comprehensive Reference Manualfor more information regarding Feed Modes and their configuration.
Update WAV Configuration
Click the "Update Apex" icon once when the pump's configuration is complete. After doing so, this pump will now become active and begin its operation.
Navigate back to the Apex Fusion Dashboard.
Configure Second WAV Pump
Hover over the name of your second WAV Pump and select it.
Reference Modes
Most users will want the second pump to mirror the first pump or do exactly the opposite of the first pump. To reference the first pump select the 'COPY' button(top right) to copy from WAV_1 and update.
If you want the 2nd pump to operate entirely different, then configure the second pump here and set it's plot points and modes as you would like and update.
Adjust Intensity/Power
The square gears below will allow you to adjust the Intensity/ Power of the circular plot points on the graph. Click it and adjust here.
Options:
- Time: Typically these will be the exact times of your first pump.
- Intensity/Power: To have your second pump reference the exact intensity of your first pump set all the points to 100%. To have this pump be half as strong you would then adjust the pump intensity/power percentage to 50%.
Most users will have all points on the line at 100% so their second pump behaves exactly the same as their first pump.
WAV Flow Modes
Now to adjust the Mode for the WAV select the plot point and select the mode from the drop down list. Select "Mirror" if you want the second pump to match the intensity of the 1st pump. Select "Inverse" if you want the second pump to do exactly the opposite of the first pump.
In both cases you will select the first pump as the "reference pump" in the configuration.
Recall that if you need help understanding the modesclick on the ' ? 'on the top right menu.
Rename Pump
Change the name by selecting the configuration gear in the top right corner and appropriately name the pump. If you 'Copied' from another pump the 'Advanced' programming will already be set because the configuration was copied from a reference pump.
